Hickey’s Recommends: High Noon Canned Cocktails

A can with seltzer, alcohol, and fruit juice is a recipe for success. But, as with all recipes, the quality of the ingredients can turn something good into something great. It’s why we stock High Noon hard seltzers, teas, and lemonades at our liquor store, located right here in Worcester County. While we’ve got a wide selection of options, including wines, beers, and liquors, we wanted to shine some light on why we think High Noon’s canned cocktails stand out.

What Sets High Noon Hard Seltzers Apart

Launched in 2019 by E & J Gallo Winery, their initial hard seltzer offering flew off the shelves. While hard carbonated beverages are nothing new, what sets these apart is the quality of the ingredients: choosing vodka over fermented cane sugar or malted barley, and using real fruit juice. From our initial tastings, we thought they were a superior version of the craze, and have been stocking them ever since.

Vodka & Juice Canned Cocktails

The High Noon cans that started it all, the hard seltzer “Sun Sips,” are a combination of seltzer, vodka, and fruit juice. Compared to other popular hard seltzers, these are a premium option, but a favorite among our customers. Flavors include peach, pineapple, lime, and watermelon, and come in both mixed “party packs” and single flavors, which we carry both of. Many like it for not being overly sweet—no sugar added, just the fruit juice—which makes it easy to sip with bright flavors.

Tequila & Juice Canned Cocktails

If vodka isn’t to your taste, they also have tequila options they rolled out in 2023. Much like the hard seltzer, the ingredients are simple but premium: tequila, seltzer, and fruit juice. Tequila canned cocktail flavors include strawberry, lime, grapefruit, and passionfruit, and come in mixed cases and single flavors. These are perfect for those with a passion for tequila who don’t want to compromise on taste while still being conveniently canned.

High Noon Hard Tea

Following the trends (and consumer requests, including some of our inquiring customers), in 2024, High Noon rolled out hard teas, following the formula of vodka, juice, and—this time—brewed tea. Unlike the other two, this isn’t a carbonated option, but great if you want something a bit more complicated than just hard black teas. Just like the other two, these drinks are no-sugar-added, so sweet tea enthusiasts will want a different brand or mix in some simple syrup (which we, of course, also have at our store).
