French 75 Cocktail
What was once old is new again! And that goes for the French 75 cocktail (or as the French call it a Soixante Quinze). The drink originated in Paris during World War I, and was said to “have such a kick that it felt like being shelled with the powerful French 75mm field gun!”
Well its made a stunning resurgence and I have to say I think that’s wonderful news. One sip and you’ll have to agree. I made mine with Uncle Val’s Gin because of all the wonderful botanical flavors in it. As for the sparkling wine aspect – stick to Proseccos’ – their crisp, clean flavors and affordable price points make them perfect for this recipe.
Make this your first summer sipper on your patio when the sun comes out tomorrow!
